Tinkoff launches mobile version of its Investment Academy, offering new courses and content

Moscow, Russia — 19 September 2022.
Tinkoff has launched a standalone mobile app for its Investment Academy, an educational platform aimed at advancing financial literacy among the Russian population.

The platform is available for all users, rather than being restricted to Tinkoff Investments clients.

The app integrates various Tinkoff Investments’ proprietary courses and guidelines, as well as the content provided by Tinkoff’s strategic partners including leading universities, stock exchanges and industry associations, among others.

There are over 20 educational courses available on the platform, on topics including the stock market, financial instruments, macroeconomics and analytics, as well as video resources.

The app can be downloaded free of charge from the App Store or Google Play.

There are three main sections on the app: Feed, Library and Videos.

The Library section currently includes:

  • 21 educational courses on finance and investment that include case studies, self-assessment questions, exercises and a final exam. Some of the courses are restricted to Tinkoff Investments clients only.
  • Over 10 articles with insights, guidelines and tips for both investors and those considering opening a brokerage account.
  • A calculator for the individual investment account to estimate potential yield.
  • Investment wrap-ups and stock market updates from the ‘Money Never Sleeps’ YouTube project, and interviews with experts from Tinkoff Private Talks.
  • Tests providing investment recommendations based on user responses.

The Videos section features themed programmes such as business and market news, as well asinterviews with renowned economists, investors and business people. Going forward, it will also include podcasts, video courses and guides to investing.

The Feed includes popular app resources, new courses, articles and the latest episodes of YouTube shows.

New Investor Path

Users of the app can now take advantage of the updated Investor Path; a course developed by the Moscow Exchange. It teaches investors a range of fundamental investment skills, from understanding market risks to knowing their rights. The course was redesigned and relaunched jointly with Tinkoff Investment experts.

The Investor Path was created in 2021 by the Moscow Exchange School, together with the expert support of the Bank of Russia. The course relies on the methodology of the International Organisation of Securities Commissions (IOSCO) and was the first educational programme to receive accreditation from the Financial Literacy Development Association.

The new version features updated content, an improved logical structure, more charts and case studies, as well as self-assessment questions.

The theory section outlines key strategies for managing your own finances and stock market principles. Users get access to four mini courses; Finance Planning, A Complete Guide to Investment Products, Getting Ready for Investment, and Fraud Awareness. To complete a course, users are invited to take the final exam. To complete a course, users will need to pass a quiz by correctly answering a certain number of questions.

Dmitry Panchenko, Director of Tinkoff Investments, commented:

«Financial literacy was not a statutory element of the school curriculum until 2022. Before this, it was only taught as an additional subject at universities, which meant that most people had to navigate through their financial situations blindly. This inspired us to create free Investment Academy courses on the Tinkoff Investments app in late 2021. When the number of clients who took our courses hit over one million, we decided to launch a separate app for Russian investors.

The Investment Academy now offers more than 20 courses for learners of different knowledge and skill levels. New courses are constantly being added to bring new educational opportunities to different groups, including schoolchildren, students, specialists and elderly people, all of whom want to improve their financial awareness and knowledge of economics and finance.»
