Tinkoff is now ranked among the top issuers of debit and credit cards in Europe.

The Nilson Report has published its annual ranking of the Top 50 Issuers of Credit Cards and Debit Cards in Europe for 2020. In the past year, Tinkoff has risen to take 27th place among debit card issuers (formerly 36th) and 38th among credit card providers.

Tinkoff ranked 33rd in the overall rating for the total value of purchases made across all of its cards, with USD 23,459.8. The list of the Top 50 largest European issuers included only five Russian banks — Sber, VTB, Tinkoff, Russian Standard, and Alfa.

The Nilson Report’s research considers the size of purchases made on credit and debit cards as well as the number of cards issued. For the past 50 years, the company has annually published research on the global bank card and payments industry. The Nilson Report also publishes a magazine under the same-name, which is recognized by global industry authorities.
