Tinkoff re-launches Support Will Come, a grant competition for not-for-profit organisations

Moscow, Russia — 20 April 2022.
Tinkoff has launched the second Support Will Come grant competition with a total budget of RUB 20 m for Russia’s non-profit organisations (NPOs).

Its mission is to support NPOs in fields rarely covered by grants and fundraising, regardless of the organisation’s track record. NPOs face far greater challenges in raising funds for team and software development, process automation, and for remunerating highly qualified experts capable of raising the organisation to a whole new level.

The 2022 Support Will Come grant competition will be available to NPOs with a two-year track record and will focus on four areas:

  1. Improving IT infrastructure, including software
  2. Streamlining business processes and organisational development
  3. Training and development of employees and teams
  4. Evolving the fundraising function

Our expert partner and organiser of the competition is D-Group. Social, a dedicated centre for the development and support of NPOs.

To participate, contestants should complete and submit the application form on the official website (grants.tinkoff.ru.) before 19 May 2022.

Each NPO is eligible for up to RUB 1 m in grants and will be provided with access to Tinkoff’s resource base to develop its own brand and raise funds.

Tatyana Polyakova, Head of Sustainability at Tinkoff:

«Tinkoff has been historically supportive of ambitious teams that are willing to embrace change. The first Support Will Come competition uncovered bottlenecks in the stewardship of NPOs, which is why the 2022 competition will focus even more on making these entities more sustainable and robust.

Bolstering your team, streamlining and automating internal processes, strengthening the fundraising function — these are all vital elements for any business willing to grow and deliver outstanding results. For NPOs, however, it is typically hard to get hold of funds in specifically these areas.»

Inga Moiseeva, CEO of D-Group. Social:

«The quality and performance of a non-profit organisation’s work, and its ability to render assistance to beneficiaries, very much depend on its sustainability. We believe that grants provided solely to strengthen NPOs' organisational framework will enable winners of the Support Will Come competition to advance more rapidly towards their strategic goals by setting up or tweaking certain algorithms or tools. It is unclear yet whether this will be a new approach to fundraising through new communication channels that will attract new donors, or a CRM revamp that will free up a week’s time in your programme coordinator’s schedule, but we will find out soon. One thing is certain — this will be a worthwhile investment, and, in as little as 1–1.5 years, we will see its first tangible results.»

2021 Support Will Come competition

Support Will Come was Tinkoff’s grant competition launched in spring 2021, which provided support to NPOs with a track record of 1–5 years. The winners were 15 charitable organisations from all over Russia. Key highlights:

  • a total of RUB 18.9 m in social investment was provided to the winners
  • 12,700 people received aid during the five months of grant-funded projects, which involved a total of 13,500 people, including volunteers
  • RUB 17.4 m was additionally donated by Tinkoff clients to support the finalists' statutory activities. All this was made possible by the integration of these NPOs into the bank’s fundraising products, Tinkoff’s mobile app charity services as well as the Cashback To Give Back project.
